Every Monday and Friday for the four years before COVID I participated in TEN Club. We got to meet entrepreneurs from our community, work on our own entrepreneurial projects, and engage with unique learning experiences throughout the community.
What I liked about TEN Club was that it opened my eyes to all the different paths adults took to get to whatever place they are today. We met a biologist-turned artist who designs art for Tentree. We met a professional golfer who was good with his money and so he wrote a course about finances for athletes. One entrepreneur started out as a banker and is now an award-winning board game designer. The only thing any of the entrepreneurs had in common was that they were all somewhere different than they thought they’d be. I always think about that while I start my own post secondary education. I think it is why I have a hard time pretending that I know where I’m going. I know that if I keep learning about things that are interesting to me, if I keep meeting new people and if I keep showing up in my community, I will eventually get somewhere really cool.
