Workshops, clubs, activities. All things I've done to gain skills in my interest areas but not for volunteer, work, or school.
VEX is an international robotics competition modelled after competitive sports. Think wrestling for programmers. Every year, a new game is dropped to teams around the world who then work to build robots to play the game against each other.
Gearing Up was an opportunity for me to explore UBC, Vancouver, and engineering to see if it would be a good fit for me.
I had the opportunity to take a one week professsional level sculpture workshop at Sawatsky's Imagination Corporation
Every Monday and Friday for the four years before COVID I participated in TEN Club. We got to meet entrepreneurs from our community, work on our own entrepreneurial projects, and engage with unique learning experiences throughout the community.
It would be a shame if I didn’t include at least something about the four years I spent in the hybrid-homeschool STEAM program called ENTER. It is, after all, a huge part of who I am and how I got here.
I am incredibly grateful for my time completing Speechcraft with Gaynor Bereza. This program is a gentle, encouraging skill building program that helped me have the confidence to speak out about things that matter to me.
